Woman banned from all Clermont parks found sleeping under stage stairs with missing person

A Minneola woman will appear in court this month for trespassing at a park to sleep under the stairs.

An officer on patrol at Waterfront Park, 330 Third St., observed a male sleeping on the stage next to the Highlander building at 3 a.m. Friday, May 29, according to a case report from the Clermont Police Department. As he got closer, 50-year-old Sonia Sanabria started to crawl out from behind a set of stairs.

The officer asked both of them what they were doing out so late, and they replied that they were just sleeping. After relaying their information to dispatch, he learned the male had been reported missing. Sanabria had an active trespass warning from all city parks that did not expire until Wednesday, June 3, the report said.

Sanabria then advised that she was homeless, so she was looking for a place to sleep and charge her phone. She was aware that she had been trespassed from all city parks, but she thought it had expired by that point, the report said…
