ST. JOSEPH — A warrant has been issued, and a $10,000 cash-only bond has been set in Buchanan County for an Orlando, Florida, man charged with stealing.
According to the probable cause statement, Alberto Alvarez Aldo was hired and paid $32,000 by Lowe’s Distribution Center in St. Joseph to hire and pay employees to complete a construction job. Lowe’s also purchased two Rhino Bond machines, each worth approximately $10,000, and had them shipped to the job site. Then on April 21, Aldo took the money and the machines, without completing the job, and fled. Aldo also told Lowe’s that they had to pay him $6,000 to get the machines back. After paying Aldo, he told them that the machines were in a storage facility in Kansas City. The business owner and police then went to the address and found an unknown third party. They told officers they did not know what the items were and that they were paid by Aldo to be there to give the machines back to the owner…
