This weather event is anticipated to affect an area spanning 87,166 square miles, home to approximately 9.7 million residents. Major urban centers within the risk zone include Jacksonville, FL; Atlanta, GA; Montgomery, AL; Columbus, GA; and Tallahassee, FL, raising concerns over potential wind damage and tornado threats.
In addition to the slight risk areas, a marginal risk has been identified over an adjacent region covering 79,729 square miles with a population of over 13 million people. This includes cities such as Birmingham, AL; Mobile, AL; Chattanooga, TN; Gainesville, FL; and Columbia, SC, where residents should also brace for possible thunderstorm impacts.
