Victims identified in downtown Orlando Halloween shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — The two victims killed in the Orlando shooting during Halloween celebrations have been identified by police.

On Saturday, the Orland Police Department said 25-year-old Tyrek Hill and 19-year-old Timothy Schmidt Jr. were killed by the gunman.

In the early hours of Nov. 1, 17-year-old Jaylen Dwayne Edgar fired shots , which ended up killing the two men and injuring nine others in the area of East Central Boulevard and North Orange Avenue.

Edgar was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree murder with a firearm and six counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, according to Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith.

The Chief said six of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are currently in stable condition.
