If the New York Knicks thought that a shorthanded Orlando Magic would roll over, they were sadly mistaken Monday evening.
Without Paolo Banchero and much of Orlando’s starting lineup out for an Eastern Conference showdown, the Magic found a way to upset the hometown Knicks by a 103-94 final score.
For their part, Karl-Anthony Towns and Miles McBride did not play in the game with different knee injuries. In the case of Towns, a knee injury suffered a knee injury over the weekend.
New York found themselves down two at the half with their starting lineup struggling to shoot the ball well from the field. The Knicks shot 43% from the field and hit just a trio of three-pointers throughout the night.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks in scoring with 24 points and was aided by another 24 from Mikal Bridges.
The big issue for New York? The same that kept the team down in their losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls.
