Jamaican man charged with illegal reentry into the United States

ORLANDO, Florida — A Jamaican man has been charged with illegal reentry into the United States after being previously deported twice, according to Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney. Garville Gary Gayle, a 36-year-old Jamaican citizen, faces up to ten years in federal prison if convicted.

According to the criminal complaint, Gayle was deported from the United States on November 19, 2009, and again on May 26, 2016, after being convicted of felony offenses, including illegal reentry by a previously removed alien. He has not applied for permission to re-enter the United States from the Attorney General or the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. On April 29, 2024, Gayle was found voluntarily back in the United States.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO), the Orlando Police Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. It is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Matthew J. Del Mastro.
