For the fourth year in a row, the City of St. Cloud has been honored with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association—a testament to the city’s continued commitment to transparency, and accountability in financial planning.
The award represents a significant achievement by the city, representing the commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To receive the award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines are designed to assess how well the budget serves as:
- A policy document
- A financial plan
- An operations guide
- A communications device
Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award.
