WINTER HAVEN, Florida — A Polk County Sheriff’s Office operation targeting illegal sales of alcohol and tobacco resulted in the arrest of a store clerk in Winter Haven, according to a press release from the department.
During the operation, deputies were assisted by a local high school student from the agency’s Cadet 1000 program, who attempted to purchase alcohol, tobacco, and kratom at various stores. On March 27, 2025, the 15-year-old student was refused alcohol at three stores but successfully purchased tobacco at Blazen Blvd., located at 801 Cypress Gardens Boulevard.
