Lake Wales Commission approves five-year contract with Maryland company for traffic cameras

The Lake Wales City Commission voted 4-0 on May 6 to approve a five-year contract with Altumint, a Maryland-based company, to operate fixed cameras at traffic lights and in school zones.

Commissioners voted in November for a resolution to install such cameras , intended to detect vehicles driving through red lights or exceeding the speed limit in school zones.
