Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain Risk For Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida – Scattered to numerous showers (30–70%) and scattered thunderstorms are forecast through the afternoon and evening on Thursday, June 5, 2025, as sea breezes and outflow from previous storms converge over east Central Florida, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will be capable of wind gusts up to 40–50 mph, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and heavy rainfall (1–2 inches in 90 minutes).

The greatest chance for heavy rainfall will be from Kissimmee northward.

Seasonable temperatures are expected today in east Central Florida, with highs in the mid-80s to low 90s and heat index values between 96°–101°F forecast.
