The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a 40-year-old Kissimmee woman dead early Wednesday morning and are actively searching for the driver who fled the scene.
The crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. on Florida Parkway, just south of Birchwood Circle. According to FHP, preliminary findings suggest the woman may have been running in the northbound lane when she was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.
