Former Haines City clerk receives $550,000 settlement in lawsuit against city, lawyer says

A Haines City whistleblower could receive a $550,000 settlement in her federal lawsuit for racial discrimination and harassment, according to her attorney.

Former City Clerk Erica Anderson filed a lawsuit against the city in March 2023 claiming she faced “blatant racial discrimination, harassment, hostility and retaliation” from Commissioner Anne Huffman after filing a whistleblower complaint about wrongdoing.
