ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Weather Outlook for East Central Florida on Friday, June 27, 2025.
The NWS warns of the following hazards during the peak storm hours:
- Strong to locally damaging winds with gusts of up to 60 mph
- Small hail up to quarter-sized
- A brief tornado on boundary collisions
- Frequent lightning strikes that are deadly to people and pets who remain outside
- Locally heavy rainfall that could lead to localized minor flooding
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, the timing of the strongest storms will occur from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Central Florida cities at risk for severe thunderstorms include:
- Daytona Beach
- Sanford
- Kissimmee
- DeLand
- Vero Beach
- Fort Pierce
