Orlando Woman Charged with Attempted Murder for Striking Man with Stolen Truck in Hillsborough County

An Orlando woman is facing a slew of charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly using a stolen truck to strike a man in Hillsborough County. The violent episode unfolded on the afternoon of Saturday on an exit ramp off Interstate 75. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Armani Bellamy engaged in a dangerous confrontation that resulted in a man suffering severe injuries.

Local authorities responded to the distressing scene at around 2:30 p.m., where they discovered a damaged Dodge Challenger and a Ford F-250 positioned precariously up an embankment. Initially thought to be a traffic incident, deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department quickly discerned that this was an intentional act, as a witness relayed how Bellamy had attempted multiple times to hit the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, purposefully. One witness specifically told troopers they saw Bellamy reverse and quickly try to accelerate towards the victim, failing to hit him initially but eventually succeeding, as reported by ClickOrlando.

Bellamy now faces a series of charges, including attempted murder with a weapon, aggravated assault, grand theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, and aggravated battery with great bodily harm. These allegations stemmed not only from her violent actions but also from the fact that the Ford F-250 she was driving had been reported as stolen.
