A domestic dispute quickly escalated but was diffused with the help of a four-legged deputy.
DAVENPORT, Fla. – A domestic disturbance call in the Davenport Lakes community on Friday evening resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old man after he allegedly battered a victim and then resisted deputies, eventually yielding to the persuasive presence of a Polk County Sheriff’s Office K9.
At approximately 6:19 p.m. on Friday, July 11th, PCSO deputies were dispatched to a battery complaint in the Four Corners area. The suspect, identified as Brian Koning, 46, was reportedly intoxicated and aggressive, accused of striking a victim with a metal cup. Authorities were also informed that Koning had access to firearms inside his residence.
Upon arrival, the first deputy encountered Koning at the end of his driveway. Koning immediately became confrontational, ordering the deputy off his property and stating he was going back inside his home. The deputy, anticipating further resistance, warned Koning that if he attempted to re-enter, K9 Reno would intervene…
