The City of Orlando offers to plant free trees for homeowners who apply through the Street Tree program.
To get a free tree, Orlando residents must fill out an application by August 31st. There are only a few steps to request a free tree for outside homes along the street. The home must be within city limits to request a free street tree, not in unincorporated Orange County or another nearby city.
If approved, the City of Orlando will plant trees for homeowners along their streets for free during the following winter. Trees cool our neighborhoods and reduce utility costs, flooding and heat-related illnesses.
The City of Orlando offers several species of trees that are different based on size and growing conditions, and may be able to recommend a type of species depending on your location. Review the various street tree types online or see examples of trees in person at Willie Mays Park…
