Dozens of families face eviction from I-Drive hotel due to safety concerns

ORLANDO, Fla. — Dozens of families are being forced to leave a local hotel where they have been living after receiving an order to be out of their rooms by Monday.

According to a spokesperson with the city of Orlando, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, city code enforcement officers became aware that water service from OUC might be discontinued due to non-payment by the owners of the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Orlando on International Drive.

“Everybody was caught off guard. You know, we didn’t have nowhere to go,” said Roxie Streeter, who has been living at the hotel for three weeks.
