Venezuelan National Arrested In Davenport After Resisting Polk County Deputies

Man wanted for battery faces new charges after physically fighting deputies.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old Venezuelan national, sought on an active warrant, was arrested last week in Davenport after a physical altercation with Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies. The suspect, identified as Paul Carreno Colina, now faces enhanced charges due to his illegal status in the United States.

On August 13th, PCSO deputies arrived at the Victoria Park apartments to serve a warrant for Battery Causing Bodily Harm from Osceola County. Upon locating Colina, deputies attempted to take him into custody. According to the PCSO, Colina immediately resisted, physically fighting with the officers who were trying to detain him.

Despite his efforts, Colina was ultimately subdued and taken into custody. His resistance, however, resulted in additional charges. In addition to the original warrant, Colina was charged with two counts of Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting with Violence, and Resisting without Violence…
