State Trooper Posted at Pulse Crosswalk After Locals Restore Rainbow With Paint

The fight over the Pulse Interim Memorial crosswalk on Orange Avenue escalated today after locals restored the rainbow colors the state painted over earlier this week.

Neighbors and activists repainted the crosswalk in bright colors, but FDOT crews quickly returned to cover it in black. This time, the state also stationed a Florida Highway Patrol trooper at the intersection, reportedly threatening arrest for anyone who tries to chalk or paint the road again.

For now, supporters are taking their chalk to the sidewalks around the memorial instead, determined to keep the rainbow visible…
