New York native nabbed with suspended license on U.S. 301

A man was arrested for driving with a suspended with a suspended license despite claiming he paid the fees for it.

An officer spotted a grey Toyota SUV ahead of him on U.S. 301 in Oxford at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A check of the tag revealed the registered owner, 33-year-old Benjamin Mark Giardini of Orlando, had an active suspension on his license.

The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle, and Giardini handed over his license. When asked about his suspended status, he stated he had paid his fees for it. He also provided a citation number, the report said.

Further investigation revealed Giardini was stopped in Orlando on April 8 and issued a citation for driving with a suspended license without knowledge. This was under a different citation number, the report said…
