Two Polk County restaurants were temporarily closed by inspectors for roaches, rodents — or a combination thereof – during the first two weeks of August, according to state inspection reports.
La Villita Bakery at 89 U.S. 17-92 N. in Haines City was closed for a day after an inspector noted 12 violations, including live roaches and evidence of rodents.
The inspector found about 20 live roaches on a wall near large mixers, on live roach on a flour bag and about 30 on the sticky side of tape on a flour bulk bin (high priority).
