A tragic incident at Orlando’s Lake Eola has resulted in the death of a young swan and the subsequent arrest of a man identified as Adonis Leyva. According to ClickOrlando, the 33-year-old man was taken into custody after he was found with the deceased bird, which was one week post its release into the park. District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan described the event as “heartbreaking” and indicated that mental illness might have played a role in the man’s actions.
Leyva now faces charges of third-degree grand theft and animal cruelty.
