A Leesburg man admitted he was not legally in the United States after being stopped driving an unsafe trailer without a license.
A trooper saw 31-year-old Pablo Mora-Sanchez in a black Ford truck towing a two-axle dump trailer at a red light in Minneola around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The trailer’s tag was not very visible, as the load cover drawn over it gave it a dark appearance. The trailer’s lights did not seem to be working properly and were not as bright as a brake light should be. The trooper also could not see the truck’s brake lights from the back due to the size of the trailer, the report said.
After the light turned green, the trooper stopped the truck at U.S. Hwy. 27 and Oak Valley Boulevard. He noticed Mora-Sanchez had the four-ways on for the truck, but he could barely see the right trailer light blinking while the left did not change when Mora-Sanchez stepped on the brake. The trailer was loaded with roofing debris and had a gross weight of 14,000 pounds. The safety breakaway cable was snapped and needed replacing, as well, the report said…
