FHP trooper injured in crash on I-4; Kissimmee man arrested

A Kissimmee man was involved in crash that injured a Florida Highway Patrol trooper Monday in Polk County, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Clifford Pinellas, 47, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was arrested in relation to an active warrant out of Walton County and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing an alluding an officer and driving while license suspended. Once the suspect is released from ORMC he will be booked into the Orange County jail on the Walton County warrant, along with Osceola County warrant. Additional charges may be placed by FHP, the Sheriff’s Office said.

According to a Sheriff’s spokesperson, an Osceola County deputy made visual contact with a black 2014 Honda Civic that was reported stolen out of Polk County on U.S. Highway 192 near Holiday Trail. The Sheriff’s aviation unit followed the vehicle as it traveled into Orange County and then back into Osceola County, and then onto Interstate 4 into Polk County. When the vehicle did not stop after the trooper activated his lights, the two vehicles made contact near exit 55, and the Honda Civic came to a stop due to the vehicle becoming disabled…
