KISSIMMEE, Fla. — As of Wednesday, all downtown Kissimmee businesses that want to serve alcohol after midnight are required to purchase the after midnight alcohol sales permit, which was passed by the city of Kissimmee in July.
“I think the main reason for this new ordinance change, I think it’s mostly so that it can give oversight to the Kissimmee Police Department as opposed to just having the code enforcement officers out,” Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa said.
Businesses that are open late, like Miguelo’s Ultra Lounge, must purchase the $250 annual permit and also ensure they continue to prepare and serve meals after midnight as part of the guidelines of the permit. As of Wednesday, six businesses in downtown have applied for the permit…
