Chicago woman busted skip-scanning at self-checkout in Walmart

A Chicago woman was arrested for retail theft after skip-scanning $41 of merchandise at a self-checkout register in Walmart.

Loss prevention employees of Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, caught 27-year-old Alejandra Guillen skip-scanning items at 8:35 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Guillen finished her transaction only to be taken to the Loss Prevention Office moments later. They found $41.23 in stolen goods in her possession before she was arrested, the report said…
