A Clermont teen will appear in court for a firearm found in his waistband during a traffic stop at South Lake Plaza.
An officer stopped 19-year-old Alvah Troy Rodney in a white Mercedes-Benz at the South Lake Plaza, located at 608 SR 50, around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, according to a case report from the Clermont Police Department. He had not been able to see into the vehicle at all due to the windows being covered with illegal tint.
While speaking with Rodney and the two male passengers, the officer noticed an open container of alcohol sitting in the cup holder in the center console. The traffic stop continued with a K-9 unit positively alerting to the vehicle, and each occupant was asked to step out. They were then patted down for weapons, the report said…
