Orlando, FL – Drivers across Florida are being urged to use extreme caution this Blackout Wednesday, as early Thanksgiving travel mixes with one of the busiest drinking nights of the year along major corridors including I-4, I-95, and I-75.
According to Alcohol.org, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving—commonly known as Blackout Wednesday or “Drinksgiving”—has become one of the nation’s most alcohol-heavy nights. Liquor orders rose 156% in 2022 compared to the prior Wednesday, while beer sales climbed 85% and cocktail orders increased 69%.
