Leesburg habitual offender arrested after caught back behind wheel

A Leesburg man was arrested for driving with a license that had just been revoked for exceeding 12 points within 12 months.

A deputy spotted a vehicle with a registration that expired on Nov. 16 headed southbound on U.S. Hwy. 27 in Minneola around 6:45 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The registered owner, 40-year-old Nelson Adam Jesus Sanabria, also had a revoked license as of Nov. 20 for 60 months.

After stopping Sanabria near Main Avenue, the deputy learned his license had been revoked for exceeding 12 points within 12 months. He stated he was unaware of the revoked status, the report said.

A subsequent check of his driving history revealed six prior driving on suspended license cases. The most recent was the result of a failure to appear warrant from Nov. 1, the report said…
