Soon, Walt Disney World guests will be able to do their grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s. A new location is in the works for Kissimmee, less than 10 miles from Walt Disney World property.
Trader Joe’s Kissimmee
GrowthSpotter reports that North American Development Company, which owns the Loop West shopping center in Kissimmee, filed plans with the city and South Florida Water Management District for a new 12,500-square-foot grocery store north of JCPenney.
The proposed size and layout match that of a regular Trader Joe’s. North American Development Company also owns Tomoka Town Center in Daytona Beach, where a new Trader Joe’s opened last month.
The 2.6-acre parcel is at the corner of Thacker Road and Dyer Boulevard, pictured in the center of the Google Maps screenshot above. It has a 173 space parking lot. 29 spaces will be removed and six ADA spaces will be added on the south side for a total of 150 directly serving Trader Joe’s.
The grocery store declined to confirm or deny the plans, but spokesperson Nakia Rohde told GrowthSpotter, “We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country, including areas in Kissimmee, as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year.”…
