A 56-year-old Kissimmee man was killed Friday morning in Brevard County when another motorist struck him and his vehicle on the side of the road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of State Road 528 (Beachline Expressway) near State Road 401 just after 9 a.m. Troopers say the victim was standing outside of his Hyundai Palisade, reaching inside. A Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 24-year-old Cape Canaveral man veered off the roadway onto the outside shoulder, striking the Palisade and the man. The victim was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, the FHP report said.
