Villagers’ son to lose driver’s license after found sleeping in truck

The son of a couple in The Villages will lose his driver’s license after he was found in the wee hours sleeping in his pickup truck.

Keith Cook Stephenson, 38, who lives with his parents in the Village of Pine Ridge, pleaded no contest this past week in Lake County Court to a charge of driving under the influence. He will lose his driver’s license for six months, has been placed on probation for one year and has been ordered to perform 50 hours of community service, although he can “buy out” at the rate of $12 per hour.

Stephenson was found at about 3 a.m. May 25 in a silver pickup which was in gear with the engine running parked on the side of State Road 25, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. He appeared to be sleeping…
