One restaurant was temporarily closed by an inspector and three others had double-digit violations during the first two weeks of November, according to state inspection reports.
On Nov. 3, Tortilleria La Mexicana #5 at 701 Hinson Ave., Haines City, was temporarily closed by an inspector after 21 live roaches were found, two in a dry storage area and 19 between a steam well and a wall (high priority). A dead roach was found in the dry storage area (basic), according to the inspection report.
The restaurant received another high-priority violation for chilis stored in an open box on a dry storage shelf. And there were two other basic violations: an accumulation of black mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine; and a Cambro of juice was stored on the floor of a walk-in cooler…
