A Clermont woman was arrested on a warrant this past week for allegedly harassing her son’s girlfriend and family into dropping charges against him.
Candy Michelle Bagley, 48, was jailed for repeatedly contacting the victim of an ongoing case against her son, 30-year-old Tyler Cole Jackson, to convince her to drop the charges against him. These attempts extended to her parents who instead focused on keeping their daughter safe.
On Dec. 6, the Clermont Police Department arrested Jackson for kidnapping (domestic), battery by strangulation (domestic), deprivation of 911 (domestic), simple battery (domestic) and resisting arrest without violence. He had been with his 28-year-old girlfriend for about a year, and they shared a residence in Groveland, the affidavit said.
On the day of the incident, Jackson refused to let the girlfriend get out of his truck as they were arguing and driving home. He then decided he would go to Bagley’s house in Clermont, against the girlfriend’s will. An independent witness called law enforcement when she saw him force her into the truck from the side of the road as she screamed for help, the affidavit said…
