Back in August, we wrote about something that felt strange.
Less than two months after the Florida Department of Transportation wrapped up a highly publicized road project on South Orange Avenue near the Pulse Interim Memorial, decorative crosswalks that had just been installed were suddenly painted over. Around the same time, a social media post from FDOT praising those same “decorative crosswalk features” quietly disappeared.
FDOT did not offer an explanation. We flagged the changes, noted the missing post, and asked questions. Silence…
