Sprinkles Cupcakes Closes All Retail Locations Including Disney Springs

Sprinkles, the cupcake retailer made famous by their cupcake ATM, has suddenly closed all of its retail locations, including their store at Disney Springs in Orlando, as of December 31, 2025.

Sprinkles first opened on May 15, 2016 in Disney Spring’s Town Center, serving up gourmet cupcakes in a variety of flavors, which were baked daily in store.

Candace Nelson founded the company in 2005 and it later sold to private equity firm KarpReilly in 2012, prior to opening in Orlando. Sprinkles began franchising in 2022 and had roughly 70 locations as of 2023.

No reason was given for the closures, but a Sprinkles Cupcakes spokesperson told KTLA that “after thoughtful consideration, we’ve made the very difficult decision to transition away from operating company-owned Sprinkles bakeries.”…
