Two Polk County restaurants were closed by inspectors to deal with roaches during the first two weeks of December, according to state reports.
On Dec. 16, Global Foody Lovers at 2143 Davenport Blvd. in Davenport was temporarily closed after an inspector noted 50 live roaches (high priority) and 90 dead roaches (basic).
There were 13 violations in all. Besides the roaches, there were two other high priority violations: Raw chicken in a flip-top cooler was stored over ready-to-eat food; and several items were not cooled from 135 degrees to 70 degrees within two hours, including chicken, noodles and rice…
