Police pull man’s body, still buckled in car, out of Lake Marion; small dog rescued

HAINES CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 64-year-old Lake Wales man is dead after police said they pulled his car, with him still buckled in, out of Lake Marion on Friday night.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call at around 8:50 p.m. Jan. 9 from a nearby resident who noticed a vehicle partially submerged in the lake with its lights still on.
