Bodycam video released of Orange County deputy shooting man who opened fire, striking unmarked vehicle

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam video from a deputy‑involved shooting that occurred during a surveillance operation on a homicide suspect late last month.

According to a news release, deputies were conducting surveillance around 9:40 p.m. on Dec. 26 in the 2200 block of Buchanan Bay Circle as they prepared to serve a DNA search warrant on a homicide suspect tied to a December killing. The warrant was related to the Christmas Eve shooting death of 17-year-old Jamar Jerome, according to Orange County Sheriff John Mina.

“While deputies were surveilling the residence, two men – the homicide suspect and 20-year-old Cory Levon Andrews – came out and Andrews opened fire on deputies, striking one of our unmarked vehicles,” the release read in part…
