Teens push city leaders to ban smoking, vaping in Kissimmee parks

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A handful of Osceola High School students are pushing to ban smoking and vaping in Kissimmee parks.

An ordinance, which went through its first reading during Tuesday night’s Kissimmee Commission meeting, would prohibit all smoking and vaping in parks if passed. The idea behind the ordinance was brought to city leaders’ attention by those high schoolers, who are part of the group SWAT: Students Working Against Tobacco.
