A Clermont man was arrested after causing $900 in damage to his fiancé’s vehicle over alleged infidelity.
A deputy responded to the residence of 38-year-old Raymond Charles Kelly on Merlot Way in Clermont regarding a criminal mischief complaint at 4 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Kelly’s fiancé told the deputy that he had caused $900 in damage to her vehicle. In fact, he had sent her a text message saying he had done so. She later arrived at the residence, saw the damage and called law enforcement. Kelly left in the vehicle before they got there, the report said.
Deputies canvassed the area and ultimately found Kelly at Wawa, located at 16126 Greater Groves Blvd., Clermont. He was sitting in the driver’s seat of his fiancé’s vehicle with the engine running at the time.
