Suspected skip scanner allegedly attempts to steal $172 in merchandise at Walmart

A Kissimmee woman was arrested for theft after skip-scanning $172 in items at Walmart.

An asset protection associate of Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, saw 43-year-old Theresa Lynn Tapan skip-scanning merchandise around 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

She then tried to leave the store with 37 stolen items worth $172.82. The associate confronted her about the unpaid merchandise, and she was subsequently arrested, the report said…
