Cold Weather Shelters to Open Monday and Tuesday Across Osceola County as Temperatures Drop Below 40 Degrees

Osceola County, FL — As Central Florida prepares for another stretch of severe cold weather, Osceola County officials have announced that cold weather shelters will open Monday, February 23 and Tuesday, February 24 to provide a safe, warm place for individuals experiencing homelessness or those without adequate shelter.

Under established county protocols, shelters are activated when temperatures are forecast to fall below 40 degrees Fahrenheit for four or more sustained hours.

🏠 Shelter Locations (Opening at 6 p.m.)

The following locations will open at 6 p.m. on both nights and provide overnight refuge:

  • Kissimmee First Church of the Nazarene
  • 1550 Mill Slough Road, Kissimmee
  • First United Methodist Church St. Cloud
  • 1000 Ohio Avenue, St. Cloud

Doors will close promptly at 10 p.m., and individuals are encouraged to arrive before that time.

Faith-based organizations and non-profits are actively canvassing areas where homeless individuals are known to gather to share information about shelter availability and assist with transportation coordination.
