Former correctional officer admits she knew about stolen decal on her license plate

A Clermont woman was arrested after admitting she knew her uncle put a stolen decal on her license plate.

An officer checked the license plate of a blue Toyota stopped on Miss Flordia Avenue around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department. It showed an expiration date of October 2023, and the registration decal had an expiration year of 2026. Due to this, the driver, 28-year-old Megan Renee Leslie, was stopped near the intersection with East Highway 50.

Leslie admitted she knew about the expirations, and she stated she had no insurance on the vehicle. She also claimed to be a correctional officer with the Lake County Institute, the report said…
