Bullet Slices Through Windshields In Apopka Road-Rage Clash, Cops Collar Suspect

What started as a war of words inside a Family Dollar on South U.S. 441 in Apopka reportedly spilled into the street and escalated into gunfire, with a bullet tearing through both the rear and front windshields of a vehicle. Police say no one was hurt, but the close call has become the latest example of how fast tempers can flare behind the wheel.

According to the Apopka Police Department, the suspect followed the victim in a separate car after the argument at the store, then opened fire, sending a round through the cab of the other vehicle. The department later shared photos showing the damage from the bullet.

As reported by ClickOrlando, investigators said detectives and patrol officers “followed up on leads, conducted surveillance, and gathered critical evidence” before arresting a suspect in the case. The department added that images taken from the scene show where the bullet entered and exited the vehicle. “While we are grateful that this incident did not result in any injuries, this type of reckless and violent behavior is completely unacceptable; disputes should never escalate to gun violence,” the department wrote, according to the outlet.

Road-rage shootings are rising

Beyond Apopka, highway confrontations have increasingly turned into shooting scenes.
