Prairie House Coffee Opens Shop at Its Home Roastery in Orlando

A little house of roasting in Orlando, Florida, called Prairie House Coffee recently opened the doors to a public coffee bar on-site, marking the second retail outpost for the brand founded by two sisters.

In the College Park neighborhood north of downtown, the industrial setting of the roastery gets some warmth from wood accents against black walls. Communal tables sit near merch shelves and bags of house-roasted coffee, with a Typhoon roaster handling production batches in one corner.

“Our roastery is in a warehouse, in an industrial district. We wanted to hang onto that,” Prairie House Roastery Manager Rachel Sparks told Daily Coffee News of the vibe inside the newly opened location. “We also brought in some wood pieces to connect to our roots and bring in some warmth.”

Far from the Manitoba prairie house that inspired the brand, the shop leans into the company’s roots with Canadian flags inside and out — a more overt signal than the original shop’s cozy charm…
