ST. CLOUD, Fla. — High heels striking the pavement in Downtown St. Cloud on Wednesday night became a powerful symbol of unity, as Help Now of Osceola led community leaders, the St. Cloud Police Department, and residents in a bold stand against domestic violence during the 8th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.
Led by Help Now of Osceola Executive Director Tammy Douglass, the event challenged participants—primarily men—to walk a mile in women’s high-heeled shoes, offering a visible and impactful reminder of the struggles many survivors of domestic abuse face every day.
Among those taking part were St. Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke, Deputy Chief Jacob Ruis, and Deputy Chief Denise Roberts, whose participation underscored the importance of law enforcement’s role in addressing and preventing domestic violence within the community. Positively Osceola would like to thank St. Cloud Police for participating in the 8th Annual Walk a Mile in her Shoes event!…
