Kissimmee Police name new Public Information Officer

For the first time in a long time, the public and media-facing post at the Kissimmee Police Department will be a sworn officer.

Sergeant Raquel Fernandez, who has over 25 of experience with KPD serving as a patrol officer, School Resource Officer, and 10 years in the Criminal Investigations Division, was announced to the position late Thursday.

Fernandez will serve in the Office of the Chief and oversee the department’s communications with the public, the city said, including media relations, updates on key events and initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
