Student Arrested for Bringing Gun to School in Orlando

A student was arrested for bringing a gun to school in Orlando today. According to the Orlando Police Department, school resource officers at Dr. Phillips High School were notified that a student on campus was armed with a firearm. Dr. Phillips High School is part of Orange County Public Schools.

OPD officers quickly identified and located the student, 17-year-old Joshua Brown, in his classroom. When he attempted to flee, SROs intervened and safely took him into custody.

A loaded 9mm handgun was recovered from Brown’s backpack, which was in his possession at the time…
