A 56-year-old Kissimmee man died Saturday after being thrown from his four-wheel electric scooter on Boggy Creek Road, in an inactive construction lane near Fells Cove Boulevard just west of Narcoossee Road. Troopers say he lost control while heading east, was taken to UCF Lake Nona Hospital, and was later pronounced dead there. The Florida Highway Patrol has opened an investigation into what led to the crash.
What officials say
According to ClickOrlando, FHP troopers said the deadly crash happened Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Boggy Creek Road and Fells Cove Boulevard, just west of Narcoossee Road. The rider, identified only as a 56-year-old Kissimmee man, was traveling eastbound in an inactive construction lane when he lost control of an all-terrain, four-wheel electric scooter and went down. He was transported to UCF Lake Nona Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
